Our client is a boutique property development and investment business with an impressive pipeline of residential and mixed-use developments across Australia. With a collaborative culture and an experienced leadership team, they offer an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full property development lifecycle while developing your technical accounting skills.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll become an integral member of a close-knit finance team, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business and contributing to the delivery of accurate financial reporting.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting
- Preparing journals, reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger
- Bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Supporting project accounting and development cost tracking
- Preparing BAS, payroll tax and other statutory returns
- Assisting with cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Maintaining fixed asset registers
- Supporting external auditors and tax advisers
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support the wider business
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is eager to develop your career within the property sector.
Ideally you'll have:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- Commenced or intending to commence CA or CPA studies
- 2–4 years' accounting experience
- Experience in property, construction or a project-based environment will be highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills and exposure to accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, NetSuite or similar
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
