Role Overview

A leading retail banking institution in Hong Kong is seeking a Manager – Data & Analytics to drive high-impact analytics across key operational risk functions, including Fraud, Collections, Underwriting, and KYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured datasets to identify operational friction points across lending products, credit operations, and risk management.
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to convert complex operational problems into actionable, data-driven solutions and executive-level reporting.
  • Apply predictive modeling and introduce AI/ML concepts to streamline operations and enhance risk detection frameworks.
  • Design, validate, and track end-to-end business intelligence dashboards and predictive models within a Cloud environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across business, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless data adoption.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Operational Analytics within Retail Banking or Consumer Financial Services.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with visualization tools (Tableau/Qlik) and modern Cloud environments (GCP preferred).
  • AI/ML Orientation: Strong functional understanding of how AI/ML methods can enhance traditional data analytics frameworks (hands-on AI development experience is not required).
  • Domain Focus: Prior experience analyzing lending products or operational risk domain data (Fraud, Collections, Underwriting, or KYC/AML) is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and business storytelling skills in English and Cantonese (Mandarin is a plus).
