As the Senior Piping Engineer, you will lead the planning, development, coordination and review of piping engineering activities, ensuring designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

As the Senior Piping Engineer, you will lead the planning, development, coordination and review of piping engineering activities, ensuring designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead piping engineering activities across a major project from design through to construction support.
- Develop and review piping layouts, P&IDs, equipment arrangements and detailed design documentation.
- Optimise plant layouts to improve constructability, operations and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/ASME codes and applicable Australian standards.
- Perform piping calculations including wall thickness, branch connections and material selection.
- Prepare procurement packages, technical specifications, bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, construction and client stakeholders.
- Review and resolve technical issues, non-conformances and field design changes.
- Prepare hydrotesting procedures, testing plans and construction documentation.
- Monitor installation activities and provide technical support during construction.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- RPEQ certification is essential.
- 8-10 years' engineering experience (or 12-14 years of relevant industry experience).
- Strong experience in piping engineering within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects.
- Extensive knowledge of piping design, specifications, materials, valves, P&IDs and equipment layouts.
- Experience with pipe stress analysis using Caesar II, AutoPIPE or similar software.
- Proficient with Navisworks, Navigator and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- FIFO roster to Cloncurry, Queensland.
