Principal Software Engineer - (FMS)

Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong Flight Management Systems (FMS) knowledge and extensive experience working with DOORS databases on FMS programs. This role involves designing, developing, modifying, and implementing software applications and operating systems while providing technical support to project teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, exercises independent judgment, and contributes to complex projects as a senior-level specialist. This position also includes coordination of work teams and consultation on advanced technical initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications and operating systems.
• Coordinate work teams and provide technical support to project team members.
• Plan and accomplish project goals using extensive experience, expertise, and sound technical judgment.
• Perform a wide variety of technical tasks and provide consultation on complex projects.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of specialty.
• At least 8+ years of experience in the field or a related discipline.
• Multiple years of experience using DOORS databases on FMS programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in the concepts, practices, and procedures of software engineering and development.
• Ability to function as a senior-level contributor and specialist on complex technical projects.

Preferred Skills or Experience
• Experience supporting Client FMS programs.
• Specific Boeing FMS program experience.
• Strong Flight Management Systems (FMS) systems knowledge.
• Software development experience beyond core FMS program support.
