Our client is an established traffic management business supporting projects and operations across Queensland. With a strong operational workforce and a focus on safety, service and reliability, they are looking to appoint an experienced Scheduler to join their Townsville team.
This is an opportunity to join a close knit office team of three, supporting approximately 100 team members working across the region.
About the Role
Following an internal promotion, an opportunity is now available for an experienced Scheduler to take ownership of the day to day coordination of crews, jobs and resources across the Townsville operation.
Working Monday to Friday, you will manage a busy and constantly changing schedule, ensuring the right people, vehicles and equipment are allocated to each job while maintaining strong communication with clients and field teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing incoming client bookings and accurately entering job requirements into the scheduling system
- Coordinating approximately 100 field based team members across daily traffic management requirements
- Allocating appropriately qualified personnel based on licences, skills, availability and job requirements
- Coordinating vehicles, signage, equipment and other operational resources
- Managing schedule changes, cancellations, replacements and urgent requirements throughout the day
- Completing client follow ups and maintaining proactive communication regarding upcoming works
- Monitoring compliance requirements including licences, inductions, training and fatigue management
- Working closely with road crews and internal stakeholders to resolve scheduling challenges
- Supporting efficient shift coverage, workload distribution and operational delivery
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have previous scheduling or rostering experience specifically within the traffic management or traffic control industry.
You will also bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing high volume scheduling of people and resources
- Strong knowledge of traffic management operations and the realities of coordinating field based crews
- Previous experience using Traffio is highly regarded
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and last minute changes
- Confidence communicating with clients, field teams and internal stakeholders
- A proactive and solutions focused approach
- Strong administration and computer skills
- A strong understanding of safety and compliance requirements
- A current Driver Licence
