Are you a compassionate and reliable Assistant in Nursing (AIN) looking to make a meaningful difference in patient care? We are seeking motivated healthcare professionals to join our hospital team in Perth, Western Australia. In this rewarding role, you will work alongside Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient-centred care in a supportive and fast-paced clinical environment.
Whether supporting patients during overnight shifts or assisting with daily care activities, you will play a vital role in promoting patient comfort, dignity, safety, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will be able to:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Support nursing staff in delivering safe and effective patient care.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility in accordance with safe manual handling practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records as required.
- Ensure patient rooms and clinical areas remain clean, safe, and well-organised.
- Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and workplace health and safety standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as an Assistant in Nursing, Patient Care Assistant, or similar role within a hospital, acute care, rehabilitation, aged care, or healthcare setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and First Aid certification.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Working rights in Australia.
- Experience working in acute care, medical, surgical, rehabilitation, emergency, or mental health wards.
- Understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and hospital safety procedures.
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
