Medical Assistant (MA)

An ambulatory care clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant on Staten Island, NY to support both patient-facing and clinical operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role combines direct patient care, administrative coordination, and EMR documentation to help ensure a smooth and high-quality care experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and guests, manage patient flow, and support a positive front-desk experience
• Handle check-in, check-out, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and document scanning
• Support clinical care by obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and preparing exam rooms
• Document patient information and care activities accurately in the EMR
• Coordinate messages, referrals, follow-up outreach, and patient communications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
• Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system

Desired Skills:

• EPIC experience
• Associate degree
• 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
