Job Overview:
The EPC Account Manager serves as the primary commercial interface with assigned Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms and engineering organizations, driving specification influence, project pursuit activities, and profitable growth for centrifugal and rotary compressor solutions. This role is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying emerging opportunities, and positioning Ingersoll Rand as the preferred supplier for critical compression applications across targeted industrial markets.
Working closely with Engineering, Tendering, Product Management, Project Management, and Field Service teams, the EPC Account Manager leads customer engagement from early project development through award and execution. The role supports projects across North America, with particular focus on key EPC and engineering hubs, including the Gulf Coast region, where strong customer relationships and early specification influence are critical to success.
Responsibilities:
- Drive business development and revenue growth for centrifugal and rotary compressor solutions by engaging EPCs, engineering firms, end users, and key project stakeholders.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue capital project opportunities while developing account strategies that increase specification influence, market presence, pipeline, bookings, revenue, and margin.
- Build and maintain trusted customer and EPC relationships, positioning Ingersoll Rand as a preferred solutions provider and engaging stakeholders early in the project lifecycle.
- Influence project specifications and bidding strategies through early collaboration with engineering and project teams to understand customer objectives and requirements.
- Develop competitive, technically sound solutions in partnership with Engineering, Tendering, and Product Management, leveraging strong application knowledge and technical expertise.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, including qualification, proposals, negotiations, awards, forecasting, and project execution support.
- Maintain strong commercial and pipeline discipline through accurate Salesforce management, regular forecasting, cross-functional collaboration, and focus on project execution, cash flow, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a strategic, technically credible, and results-oriented trusted advisor, effectively negotiating and collaborating with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders to deliver sustainable customer and business outcomes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in compressor sales, rotating equipment, industrial capital equipment, or related markets.
Preferences:
• Demonstrated success selling complex engineered solutions through EPCs, engineering firms, industrial contractors, or large end-user organizations.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex customer applications and industrial processes.
• Proven sales, negotiation, account management, and business development skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.
• Experience with CRM systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, forecasting, and opportunity management skills.
20% travel
Pay Range:
The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $125,000-$155,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
