Job Summary:
Ingersoll Rand Power Tools is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to develop next-generation cordless, corded, and connected power tools. This role will support products from concept through commercial launch, working closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, quality, sourcing, manufacturing, and product management teams. At Ingersoll Rand Power Tools, we design, engineer and manufacture cordless and corded electric power tools for the assembly, industrial and vehicle repair markets. This person will work closely with global cross-functional teams comprised of software, firmware, electrical and mechanical engineers as well as strategic sourcing partners, quality, operations, and product management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for new power tool products.
- Create and evaluate concepts, prototypes, and design solutions.
- Integrate motors, drivetrains, batteries, electronics, sensors, and user interfaces into product designs.
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and test plans.
- Conduct product testing, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities.
- Collaborate with global engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development process.
- Support pilot builds and production launch activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in product development, design engineering, or electro-mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with power tools, industrial equipment, automotive products, robotics, or battery-powered devices.
- Experience with product design, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of brushless motors, motor controls, batteries, sensors, and embedded electronics.
- Experience with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with Creo, Windchill, and Altium
Travel & Work Arrangement
- Full-time onsite in Hampton, NJ.
- Up to 10% travel as needed to support suppliers, manufacturing, testing, and product launch activities.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is Min - 110,000 - Max - 130,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
