A fast-moving international trading business is hiring a Senior Shipping Manager to own end-to-end export shipping and documentation operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced logistics professional who can run day-to-day execution, strengthen controls, and drive process improvement as volumes grow.

What you’ll do

Lead end-to-end export shipments from Hong Kong to international destinations (including Africa), ensuring timelines and service levels are met

Manage freight bookings, vessel scheduling, container logistics and dispatch planning across multiple shipment modes (FCL/LCL/RoRo/flat-rack/breakbulk)

Oversee export documentation with high accuracy (B/L, invoice, packing list, COO, inspection/compliance docs, etc.)

Act as the key escalation point for delays, port issues, and carrier/forwarder disputes

Build strong working relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, NVOCCs, insurers, inspection bodies and internal stakeholders

Track performance and costs; implement vendor metrics and continuous improvement initiatives

Drive digitalisation and automation of shipping workflows (dashboards, tracking, document control, eBL adoption, archiving)

Lead, coach and develop a shipping/documentation team; set roles, KPIs, and training plans

What we’re looking for

8+ years of experience in international shipping / export operations (trade/logistics/shipping line/forwarder/trading company background welcome)

Strong knowledge of export documentation, compliance, and Incoterms

Proven experience leading a team and managing operational performance

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities

Strong communication and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure

Good working knowledge of digital tools (spreadsheets, dashboards/BI tools, shipping/document control systems); ERP exposure is a plus

English required; Mandarin/Cantonese is an advantage
