Disability Support Worker – Casual | New South Wales
Blu Healthcare is a leading healthcare recruitment agency dedicated to supporting NDIS providers, aged care facilities, community care services, disability organisations, and hospitals across Australia.
We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our casual workforce across New South Wales, including:
- Ocean Shores
- Tweed Heads
- Banora Point
- Mullumbimby
- Ballina
- Lismore
- Goonellabah
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants residing in Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting participants with personal care and daily living activities
- Supporting medication administration in accordance with relevant procedures
- Providing manual handling and mobility assistance
- Undertaking domestic duties and meal preparation
- Supporting participants who display behaviours of concern in accordance with Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Encouraging and facilitating participation in community, social, and recreational activities
- Providing individualised support in both one-on-one and shared living environments
- Transporting participants using a company vehicle or your own registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing, or equivalent)
- A current Australian Driver Licence
- A reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle
- A current Blue Card, where applicable
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A current National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You
- Full Australian working rights
- A genuine commitment to supporting people with disability to achieve their individual goals and live as independently as possible
Previous experience in Supported Independent Living, community disability support, or complex care will be highly regarded.
