Disability Support Worker – Casual | Gold Coast

Blu Healthcare is a leading healthcare recruitment agency proudly supporting NDIS providers, aged care facilities, community care services, disability organisations, and hospitals across Australia.

We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers for casual shift-fill opportunities across our disability client sites on the Gold Coast.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to participants living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. These homes are located across Brisbane’s southern suburbs, including Coomera, Upper Coomera, Pimpama, Helensvale, Elanora, Hope Island, Arundel, Southport and Ashmore.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting participants with personal care and hygiene
  • Medication administration
  • Manual handling and mobility support
  • Domestic assistance and meal preparation
  • Supporting participants with challenging behaviours in line with Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)
  • Encouraging participation in community, social, and recreational activities
  • Providing support in both 1:1 and shared living environments
  • Transporting participants using a company vehicle or your own registered and comprehensively insured vehicle

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Must hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing, or equivalent)
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Blue Card/ Working with Children Check
  • Yellow card/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently
