Cybersecurity Operations Lead

Responsibilities and Duties

As the Cybersecurity Operations Lead, you will:

• Manage the relationship with the outsourced Security Operations Centre (SOC) and act as the primary point of contact for security operations services.
• Lead cybersecurity incident response activities, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
• Oversee vulnerability management processes, ensuring timely identification and remediation of security weaknesses.
• Conduct third-party security assessments and support vendor risk management initiatives.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with IT, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and business teams to strengthen information security controls.
• Manage cybersecurity vendors, service providers, and related contractual obligations.
• Drive continuous improvement across security operations, monitoring capabilities, and operational resilience programmes.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or other relevant cybersecurity qualifications.
• A minimum of five years' experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience in security operations, incident response, threat management, or vulnerability management.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and risk management principles.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers, security vendors, or outsourced security services.
• Knowledge of security monitoring tools, threat detection technologies, and security operations processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation.
