Vent Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Vent Unit Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our skilled nursing team in Enid, Oklahoma. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to residents requiring ventilator and tracheostomy support. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to residents on the ventilator unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity.
• Monitor and assess respiratory status, ventilator settings, and oxygen levels.
• Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and airway management in accordance with facility protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document assessments, interventions, and resident responses in the electronic medical record.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including ventilator alarms and changes in resident condition.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory care as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in the state of Oklahoma (required).
• Prior experience in ventilator or tracheostomy care preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and dependable.
