RF Engineer – Production Support

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Thursday
Training Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM for approximately 6 weeks
Regular Shift: 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required to Start

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to support the production, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of complex RF and microwave electronics used in high-reliability aerospace and defense applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role within a highly collaborative manufacturing and production environment. The successful candidate will work closely with RF, electrical, hardware, systems, manufacturing, and industrial engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues, support production operations, and drive solutions throughout the product life cycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with RF/microwave hardware, test equipment, troubleshooting, integration, and production support, along with the ability to work independently on complex technical problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support production and sustainment of complex multi-function RF and microwave modules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design, integration, manufacturing, and production issues.
  • Perform hands-on testing, debugging, analysis, and evaluation of RF and microwave hardware.
  • Utilize RF/microwave test equipment and simulation tools to identify root causes and validate solutions.
  • Support products throughout all phases of the product life cycle.
  • Investigate failures and technical issues related to production hardware and operational systems.
  • Lead or support failure investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems engineers, circuit design engineers, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, technicians, and production personnel.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, drawings, test data, and engineering documentation.
  • Support production operators and manufacturing teams with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Develop innovative and practical solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations as needed.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Support continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance required to start.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM-related field plus 5 years of relevant professional engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with RF and microwave hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using RF/microwave test equipment.
  • Experience with microwave/RF simulation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience in the defense electronics or aerospace industry.
  • Prior RF design engineering experience.
  • Experience with RF subsystems and hardware, including:
    • Antennas
    • Transmitters and receivers
    • Microwave components
    • Low-noise amplifiers (LNAs)
    • High-power amplifiers (HPAs)
    • RF amplifiers
    • Mixers
    • Switches
    • Frequency generation circuits
    • Frequency conversion circuits
    • Advanced electronic modules
  • Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques.
  • Strong understanding of RF and microwave circuit design.
  • Experience leading failure investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers and delivering technical presentations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial engineering, operators, and production teams.
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, drawings, and test data.

Important Schedule Information

The selected contractor must complete approximately 6 weeks of first-shift training before transitioning to the regular second-shift schedule.

  • Training: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Regular Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM
