.Net Engineer - mid level

This is: the job

We're looking for a mid level .NET Engineer to join a large-scale .NET 10 upgrade program focused on strengthening a complex API landscape. This role will play a key part in upgrading critical APIs and services, helping to improve platform security, stability, maintainability, and long-term resilience.

This initial 6-month contract will see you working closely with service-owning squads to deliver upgrades across multiple services, resolve compatibility challenges, and establish repeatable upgrade patterns that support a secure, consistent, and supported technology environment.

This is: what you'll do

• Upgrade enterprise APIs and services to .NET 10
• Refactor applications and components to address framework compatibility requirements
• Resolve build, runtime, deployment, and dependency-related issues
• Maintain application stability and minimise regression risks throughout upgrades
• Collaborate with development teams on code reviews, testing, validation, and releases
• Deliver automated testing enhancements to support quality outcomes
• Work within existing CI/CD pipelines to deploy changes through multiple environments
• Establish repeatable upgrade methodologies and technical standards
• Document upgrade approaches, technical decisions, and lessons learned
• Support production releases and post-deployment validation activities

This is: what you'll need

• Strong commercial experience with C# and modern .NET development
• Proven experience upgrading applications between major .NET versions
• Strong ASP.NET Core and API development experience
• Experience with dependency management and package upgrades
• Ability to refactor legacy or incompatible application components
• Strong automated testing experience across unit and integration testing
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and controlled deployment processes
• Strong troubleshooting skills across build, runtime, and compatibility issues
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments highly regarded
