Payroll Officer | 3-Month Contract | Western Suburbs
Who's hiring?
We're partnering with a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation to recruit two experienced Payroll Officers for an immediate start.
These are busy, hands-on roles supporting a high-performing payroll function through a period of transition. Working across a fortnightly end-to-end payroll, you'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Initially offered as 3-month contracts, there is genuine opportunity for the roles to become permanent for the right candidates.
So, what's the role?
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll while working as part of a collaborative Payroll and People & Culture team.
This is a complex payroll environment, with multiple Awards, Enterprise Agreements and detailed payroll rules. You'll need to be confident processing payroll independently, however you'll be well supported by the Payroll Manager, Employee Relations and People & Culture teams when it comes to award interpretation and more complex queries.
The team also has exceptionally well-documented payroll procedures, making it easier to get up to speed quickly and set you up for success.

- End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll
- Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring data accuracy
- Processing payroll changes, including new starters, terminations and leave
- Responding to payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assisting with payroll reporting and compliance requirements
- Working across multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Liaising with Payroll, Employee Relations and People & Culture teams to resolve complex payroll matters
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience
- Chris21/iChris experience is essential
- High attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Able to commence ASAP or at short notice
