Our client is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to deliver evidence-based, person-centred Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services to individuals with disability.
This role focuses on improving quality of life, reducing restrictive practices, and supporting participants through proactive, trauma-informed and outcome-driven approaches. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with participants, families, multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop and implement high-quality Behaviour Support Plans aligned with NDIS standards and legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and analysing behavioural data
- Developing, implementing and reviewing Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
- Creating Engagement and Intervention Plans tailored to participant needs
- Delivering training, coaching and modelling to families, support staff and stakeholders
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Support Coordinators and medical professionals
- Monitoring and reducing restrictive practices in line with NDIS requirements
- Preparing reports, behaviour data summaries and clinical documentation
- Managing behaviour support funding allocations and service delivery within plan scope
- Participating in reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline
- Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (Core, Proficient or Advanced)
- Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed care and rights-based practice
- Experience working with people with disability and complex support needs
- Ability to conduct behavioural assessments and develop evidence-based support plans
- Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage documentation and reporting requirements
- Commitment to ethical practice, participant autonomy and continuous improvement
- Current driver’s licence and ability to travel as required
