Nesco Resource is hiring an experienced Material Handler  in Gray Court, SC!

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler with forklift and warehouse experience to support shipping, receiving, inventory, and production operations. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating material-handling equipment, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Position Summary

The Material Handler supports shipping, receiving, warehouse, and production operations by safely unloading, staging, moving, and storing raw materials and finished goods. This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures, completing shipping and receiving documentation, and ensuring materials are accurately tracked and stored.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and related attachments to move raw materials and finished products.
  • Complete required forklift inspections and follow all equipment safety procedures.
  • Accurately scan, stage, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Follow FIFO inventory procedures when staging and shipping materials.
  • Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for damage, accuracy, and quality.
  • Complete trailer inspections and required documentation.
  • Verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) before unloading applicable raw materials.
  • Prepare and complete receiving and shipping documentation.
  • Print shipping labels, Bills of Lading (BOL), and other required paperwork.
  • Repair or properly address damaged products prior to shipment.
  • Perform system transactions for receiving and returning materials.
  • Return unused raw materials from production to the warehouse and update inventory records.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Research and track inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of finished goods, raw materials, and warehouse consumables.
  • Assist with production and shipment scheduling as required.
  • Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, operations, and transportation personnel.
  • Provide coverage for other warehouse team members when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience required.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating a clamp truck is a plus.
  • Experience with inventory systems, RF scanners, and warehouse transactions preferred.
  • Knowledge of FIFO inventory practices.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to read and complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production and warehouse teams.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
