HARKE has partnered with an established Catholic P–12 College in regional Victoria. The College has served its community for around 40 years and is currently entering an exciting period of growth, including the expansion of its senior secondary offering.

The school has strong and stable leadership, with an experienced Principal and Director of Learning in place, and a clear focus on quality teaching, student wellbeing and continued school improvement.

About the Role

The College is seeking a Primary Coordinator for Years 3–6 to join its leadership team from Term 1, 2027.

This is a teaching and leadership opportunity for an experienced Primary educator who can provide day-to-day curriculum and pastoral leadership across the Years 3–6 area.

The successful candidate will work closely with Primary teachers and the College leadership team to support consistent teaching practice, student achievement and wellbeing across the upper Primary years.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination across Years 3–6.

• Support curriculum planning, teaching practice and consistency across Primary classrooms.

• Coach, mentor and support teachers within the Years 3–6 team.

• Use student learning data to identify priorities and support improved academic outcomes.

• Promote strong literacy and numeracy practice across the Primary years.

• Support student wellbeing, behaviour and positive engagement with learning.

• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding and inclusive educational practice.

• Work collaboratively with the wider College leadership team and contribute to ongoing school improvement.

About You

This opportunity would suit an experienced Primary Teacher, Year Level Leader, Primary Coordinator or emerging Primary leader ready to take on broader responsibility.

The College is open to candidates from Victoria, interstate and New Zealand, provided they hold or are eligible to obtain VIT registration.

Candidates trained internationally outside English-speaking education systems will generally require at least one year of Australian teaching experience to be considered.

Requirements

• Current VIT registration or eligibility to obtain VIT

• Relevant Primary teaching qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Primary curriculum and contemporary teaching practice

• Experience teaching within the Primary years, ideally Years 3–6

• Leadership experience or demonstrated capability to step into a coordination position

• Strong communication and ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and families

• Willingness to support the Catholic ethos and values of the College

• Full Australian working rights

• Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding

Location

The College is based in a well-connected regional Victorian community with good road and rail access, approximately one hour from Melbourne and within reach of Bendigo, Shepparton and the Macedon region.

Salary

Up to $118,000 plus super, dependent on experience.*

The 2027 salary scale is subject to the new EBA currently being finalised and is expected to increase.
