The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join an established and growing civil engineering business based in Co. Mayo.
This is a key role within the pre-construction and planning team, supporting the planning, monitoring and reporting of Civil and Utilities projects nationwide. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure programmes are kept up to date, progress is monitored effectively and key project information is delivered accurately and on time.
This would suit an organised and detail-focused Planner who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and is looking to develop their career within the civil engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and regularly review project programmes using MS Project.
- Liaise with project teams to review progress and update current programmes.
- Monitor project progress on a weekly basis and identify potential delays or issues.
- Produce accurate progress reports, forecasts and programme updates for internal teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Use project management and planning tools to establish and monitor project timeframes.
- Assist with developing contingency programmes where project requirements or timeframes change.
- Maintain accurate and organised project records and documentation.
- Support the Pre-Construction and Planning Manager with planning and programme-related activities.
- Work to tight deadlines while ensuring a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
- A third-level qualification in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years’ experience within a civil engineering or civils contracting environment would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Good IT skills, with experience using MS Project or similar planning software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
