About the role

SJM Advisors' is seeking a full-time or part-time Tax Accountant to join our team in Warner, QLD 4500. As a Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive taxation services to our diverse client base, ensuring compliance and optimising their financial outcomes.

What you'll be doing

Conducting tax planning and providing strategic advice to clients

Completion of income tax returns for companies, trusts and individuals

Researching and interpreting tax legislation to ensure clients' affairs are compliant

Assisting clients with tax-related queries and providing support throughout the year

Competency with BAS and PAYG preparation & ATO lodgment

Preparation of special purpose financial statements

Identification and clarification of possible Division 7A

What we're looking for

Degree in Accounting or equivalent, with a focus on taxation

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Tax Accountant, preferably in a public practice environment

Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficient in tax software (preferably APS) and Microsoft Office suite

Exceptional communication and client service skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
