QUANTITY SURVEYOR / SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Dublin | €65,000–€85,000 DOE | Full-time, Permanent THE OPPORTUNITY
Gi Group Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction team in Dublin. This opportunity is open to intermediate and senior-level candidates looking to take the next step in their careers and contribute to the successful commercial delivery of construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, procurement, subcontractor packages and financial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining strong commercial control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage project costs, budgets and financial reporting throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review cost plans, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, appointments and payments.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure value for money.
  • Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, contractual claims and final accounts.
  • Monitor project expenditure, identify commercial risks and implement effective cost-control measures.
  • Prepare interim valuations and applications for payment.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to the wider project team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree or relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and commercial management.
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages, valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Excellent cost-management, negotiation and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software, such as CostX, Cubit or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
