Snr Construction Engineer | Local Government

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Engineer to join a Victorian local council located in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs on a temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role You will be responsible for managing civil construction contracts, supervising contractors, undertaking site inspections, and providing technical leadership to ensure successful project delivery. 

Projects may include road reconstruction and resurfacing, drainage and stormwater upgrades, intersection improvements, footpath and shared path construction, streetscape enhancements, bridge and culvert works, and other civil infrastructure projects delivered as part of Council's capital works program.

About You To be successful, you will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia.
• Extensive experience managing civil infrastructure or road construction projects, including advanced contract and project management.
• Proven experience supervising contractors and undertaking site assessments against construction specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Strong contract administration, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Sound technical knowledge of road and drainage construction practices.
• Knowledge of Local Government processes and legislation (highly regarded).
• A current Victorian Driver Licence.
