The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced engineering professional to join a leading engineering inspection and examination provider.

The role involves carrying out inspections, examinations and reporting on a wide range of pressure equipment, helping customers maintain statutory compliance while supporting the safety of people, property and equipment.

You will work with customers across a variety of sectors, including local authorities, emergency services, education, dairy processing, pharmaceutical, brewing and general industry.

We are ideally looking for someone based in Dublin, Meath or Louth, although candidates in other Leinster locations may also be considered, as the workload is primarily focused across the province.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Pressure Engineer Surveyor, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing and reporting on a variety of pressure equipment, ranging from air-conditioning units and coffee boilers to pressure vessels, safety valves and steam boilers.

Your role will be focused on delivering a high-quality inspection service, identifying potential safety issues and helping customers ensure their equipment meets the required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out rigorous inspections and examinations of pressure equipment to identify defects and potential safety issues.
• Inspect equipment including boilers, pressure vessels, heating systems, air-conditioning equipment, refrigeration systems and associated pressure equipment.
• Complete detailed and accurate technical reports following inspections.
• Identify and clearly communicate defects, safety concerns and required actions to customers.
• Help customers maintain compliance with relevant statutory and industry requirements.
• Manage an assigned workload and inspection schedule across your geographical area.
• Deliver a professional and responsive service to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and examinations.
• Work independently while having access to technical support when required.
• Represent the organisation professionally when working at customer sites.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

• An NVQ Level 4 engineering qualification, or equivalent qualification at the higher end of NFQ Level 6.
• Substantial practical, hands-on engineering experience working with equipment such as boilers, pressure vessels, heating systems, air-conditioning units and/or refrigeration systems.
• The ability to understand and assess technical engineering equipment and identify potential defects or safety concerns.
• The ability to explain complex technical matters clearly and communicate safety issues to customers in a timely, professional and confident manner.
• Strong written English and the ability to produce accurate, coherent and professional technical reports.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Confidence using modern IT devices such as tablets and smartphones.
• A full clean driving licence.

The Person

This role would suit an experienced, practical engineer who enjoys combining technical engineering knowledge with independent field-based work and customer interaction.

You will need to be comfortable taking responsibility for your own workload, making sound technical assessments and communicating your findings clearly to customers.

Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor would be highly beneficial, but candidates from hands-on maintenance, mechanical, pressure systems, boiler, HVAC or related engineering backgrounds who meet the technical requirements may also be well suited to the opportunity.
