Lead Delivery Manager | Data & Analytics Programs | Long-Term Contract | Canberra

Our Project Services vertical has been engaged by a central federal government department in their requirement for senior delivery leadership on a complex data orientated program of work. At Emanate, we take the time to build lasting partnerships and understanding with those we work with in order to provide the best personnel solution in the market. This role will lead and support the delivery of key data integration, analytics, AI and machine learning solutions within our federal government client whilst working across multi-disciplinary teams and vendors. The position will also oversee the maintenance and optimisation of a core information environment within a dedicated data platform division of operations.
The Delivery Manager will be responsible for unblocking issues, supporting the delivery team, and monitoring and improving performance of the team. They use agile methodologies, learning and iterating the product and processes frequently to meet user needs. They work with Product Managers to define the roadmap for products and services, remove blockers and support the delivery team so that they can maintain delivery throughput.
About the Team & Project
The section develops and maintains data assets which are used to support business information reporting, risk assessment and intelligence analysis. The team is responsible for maintaining an enterprise repository encompassing the majority of data within the client’s operations. The section acquires, integrates, and processes data from internal source systems and external agencies to support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. The role will lead and support the delivery of data integration, analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions across complex enterprise platforms, including systems that integrate cross-domain data sources to provide consolidated business views, reporting, intelligence, and analytical capabilities. The successful candidate will also contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of the environment and its supporting infrastructure, including database administration, performance management, system reliability, and operational support, while ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, security, and responsible AI requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Transforming technical roadmap designs into agile work packages;
- Resolving issues and problems related to the databases such as performance tuning, backup and recovery and setting up the database environments for System Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
- Providing specialist technical advice to users and assisting the developers in optimising the database and SQL statements to maintain acceptable database performance;
- Developing and implementing the transition to sustainment strategy and plan;
- Executing the approved deployment and cutover plans for implementation;
- Acting as the coordination and escalation point for project streams in relation to potential deployment issues and risks;
- Assisting and establishing appropriate governance groups to ensure standards and patterns are enforced;
- Produce the following strategies: deployment, stage, risk management, delivery and schedules
Mandatory Skills & Experience to Apply
- 10+ years' experience in Delivery or Program Management.
- Experience delivering data, analytics or AI initiatives.
- Experience managing vendors, contracts and resources.
- Strong governance, reporting and risk management capability.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Active NV1 AGSVA security clearance or higher
