Iberdrola is now recruiting for a Senior HSE Business Partner – Operations to be based in the Sydney CBD office.

About the Role

The Senior HSE Business Partner – Operations will provide guidance and management of safety systems to support compliance with WHS and Environment requirements at Iberdrola Australia’s operational sites. The role will work closely with Site Managers, Owner’s Representatives, and O&M contractors to ensure that safety processes meet Iberdrola’s obligations and standards for safe and sustainable operations.

Some specific responsibilities include:

· Implement and coordinate the Health and Safety Assurance Program across operational sites and business activities.

· Plan, schedule and conduct assurance activities, including inspections, audits, verifications, workplace observations and critical control effectiveness reviews.

· Support the implementation of the Enterprise Critical Control Program and verify the effectiveness of critical controls through assurance activities.

· Undertake first- and second-line assurance activities in accordance with organisational assurance requirements.

· Monitor compliance with Health and Safety Management System requirements, corporate standards, legal obligations and regulatory requirements.

· Support operational leaders and contractors to understand and meet health and safety assurance requirements.

· Participate in incident investigations and verify the implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.

· Support the development and implementation of corrective action plans arising from audits, investigations, inspections and assurance reviews.

· Support organisational learning through the facilitation of lessons learned reviews, post-incident reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.

· Provide coaching and practical guidance to leaders and workers on assurance processes, risk management and critical control verification.

· Participate in contractor prequalification, mobilisation and contractor assurance activities to verify compliance with contractual and legislative requirements.

· Support the preparation of management review reports, assurance summaries and performance dashboards.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have relevant qualifications and strong experience in health, safety and environment in large, complex renewable energy, construction, mining, oil and gas or similar industry. Additional qualifications in auditing, assurance, incident investigation and risk management will also be highly regarded.

Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, resulting in exceptional performance.

You will be able to work in a very hands-on, flexible and practical manner while thinking strategically, and you will be comfortable and able to travel interstate to both office and site locations when required.

An open, unrestricted drivers’ licence is required.
