The Opportunity…
Due to continued growth, a permanent opportunity has become available for a Collections Officer to join their collaborative and high-performing team. Reporting to the Collections Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing a portfolio of overdue consumer mortgage accounts while contributing to the success of the broader collections function.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively contacting customers to recover outstanding debts while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach
- Negotiating and establishing sustainable payment arrangements tailored to individual customer circumstances
- Monitoring and maintaining ongoing payment plans to ensure compliance
- Liaising with various internal stakeholders to solve customer queries
To thrive in this role, you'll bring experience, resilience, and a customer-first mindset. The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 12 months experience in collections within the financial services sector
- Previous exposure to overdue mortgage accounts highly regarded, but not essential
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally
- Comfortable handling 60-80 outbound calls daily
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A results driven approach with a focus on compliance and customer care
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
