About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role sits within a collaborative finance team at Byrnecut's Head Office. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while partnering with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful insights that support business performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations and contributing to continuous improvement in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple business units
• Partnering with operational teams to provide financial insights and performance analysis
• Monitoring project and cost performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
• Contributing to process improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting
• Assisting with compliance requirements, including tax and statutory reporting
• Collaborating with Finance, Operations and senior stakeholders to support decision-making

About you

You are a commercially aware and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong understanding of management accounting principles. You enjoy working with data, engaging with stakeholders, and translating financial information into practical insights that drive performance.

Essential experience & skills

• Experience in a Management Accountant or similar role within a corporate, mining or industrial environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
• A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement
• High level of professionalism, integrity and attention to governance

Preferred / advantageous

• Experience in mining, contracting, or project-based environments
• Exposure to ERP systems and financial systems optimisation
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost control in multi-entity organisations
• Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce or accounting
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards completion
