Assistant Team Leader

CoreStaff is seeking an experienced professional ready to step into a leadership position with a large and established Adelaide business.

About the Role

This is more than a machine operator position. As Assistant Team Leader, you will play an important role in supporting daily production, coordinating employees and maintaining high standards across safety, quality and operational performance.

Working closely with the Team Leader, you will help keep the shift running efficiently and step up as relief Team Leader when required. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong communication skills to take a step into leadership. 

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily production planning, labour allocation and shift coordination
• Step into the Team Leader position when required
• Provide guidance, direction and on-the-job training to team members
• Operate production and packaging machinery across different areas of the site
• Monitor production output, quality, cleaning standards and operational performance
• Complete quality checks and report non-conforming products or processes
• Identify production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote a safe, positive and accountable team culture
• Communicate operational concerns and improvement opportunities to the Team Leader

About You To be successful, you will bring:

• Previous experience within manufacturing, production or packaging (desirable but not essential) 
• Demonstrated leadership capability or experience supporting employees on shift
• Confidence providing direction, training and hands-on assistance
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Good communication skills and the ability to work across different departments
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends when required

You must be available to work day, afternoon and night shifts on a weekly rotating roster.
