Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable nursing home located approximately 30 minutes from Limerick for an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join their senior clinical management team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse leader who is ready to step into a key leadership role within a supportive, person-centred care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the nursing home
• Ensure full compliance with HIQA standards and regulatory requirements
• Lead, supervise, and support nursing and care staff
• Oversee care planning, documentation, audits, and clinical risk management
• Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required
• Promote a culture of person-centred care and continuous improvement
• Assist with rostering, staffing levels, and workforce planning

Candidate Requirements

• Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
• Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in elderly care or nursing home setting
• Previous leadership or management experience
• Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and clinical governance
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a senior management team
