An exciting opportunity is available for a Registrar in Infectious Diseases and Hospital in the Home (HITH) to join one of Australia's leading regional health services on a fixed-term full-time appointment from 31 October 2026 to 31 January 2027.

This position offers excellent exposure to Infectious Diseases, Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Acute Medicine while working alongside experienced Infectious Diseases Physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a modern tertiary referral hospital.

Ideal for Basic Physician Trainees and Medical Registrars with an interest in Infectious Diseases, General Medicine or Acute Care, this role combines strong consultant supervision, structured teaching and valuable clinical experience across inpatient and outpatient services.

Position Highlights

• Full-Time Fixed-Term appointment
• 31 October 2026 – 31 January 2027
• 86 hours per fortnight, including 10 hours protected training time
• Salary in accordance with the Victorian Medical Officers Award

The Role Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will:

• Provide clinical care for patients with a wide range of infectious diseases.
• Participate in the Hospital in the Home (HITH) service.
• Manage inpatient referrals and consultations.
• Attend specialist outpatient Infectious Diseases clinics.
• Participate in Acute Medical Unit (AMU) duties.
• Provide medical advice across the hospital.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary patient management and clinical decision-making.
• Participate in educational meetings and departmental teaching.

Essential Requirements Applicants should possess:

• Medical degree recognised for registration in Australia.
• Current or eligible registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Completion of appropriate postgraduate clinical experience suitable for a Medical Registrar position.
