About the Company

This well-established national organisation is continuing to grow, including through strategic acquisitions across Australia. With operations across multiple states, it offers an excellent environment for an ambitious Graduate Accountant who wants exposure to a broad and varied finance function.

Based in Inner-North Brisbane, the office is easily accessible by bus and has street parking available. This is a full-time, permanent, in-office position working a 38-hour week.

Importantly, this vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion, and there is a genuine expectation that the successful person will be ready to progress their career within approximately 12–18 months.

About the Role

Reporting to an experienced Corporate Accountant and working as part of the broader Finance team, you’ll gain hands-on exposure across financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, tax compliance and general finance operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with month-end accounting, management accounts and financial reporting
• Preparing journals and completing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Supporting P&L, cashflow, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Assisting with accounting associated with property operations, acquisitions, disposals and fixed assets
• Supporting BAS, FBT, income tax and other compliance activities
• Assisting with intercompany reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Working with the wider Finance team to identify process improvements and maintain strong financial controls.

About You

We’re looking for someone with energy, drive and the aptitude to develop quickly. You don’t need to know everything from day one, but you do need to be switched on, eager to learn and willing to take ownership of your development.

Ideally, you will have:

• A completed or partially completed tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• The ambition to complete CA/CPA, if not already commenced
• Some previous accounting or finance experience is preferred, but not essential
• A good understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journals, reconciliations and general ledger accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive attitude and genuine desire to learn
• The energy and ambition to take advantage of future career opportunities
