St Vincent de Paul Society NSW has been supporting people experiencing disadvantage across the state for over 140 years.
Support includes food assistance, financial aid, help with energy bills, budget counselling, school essentials, and household items such as furniture, clothing and bedding. Just as importantly, the organisation provides emotional support and connection, along with referral pathways to additional services.
Alongside this, Vinnies NSW delivers over 100 frontline services addressing issues including homelessness, domestic and family violence, disability, mental health, youth wellbeing, refugee and migrant inclusion, and recovery from addiction.
The opportunity
This is a newly shaped leadership role to structure, and grow the existing Grants, Trusts & Foundations function.
You will lead the strategy and delivery of a strong pipeline of funding opportunities across government, trusts, and foundations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will identify fundable programs and projects and translate these into compelling proposals that secure significant income.
Leading a small team, you will also focus on building long-term relationships with funders, strengthening engagement, and ensuring ongoing support through clear impact reporting and stewardship.
This role offers the opportunity to shape a critical income stream and directly support programs that provide a hand up to people experiencing disadvantage.
This is a full time, hybrid role, with their offices based in Lewisham.

In this role, you will
- Lead and implement the grants, trusts, and foundations strategy aligned to the broader fundraising plan
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities across government and philanthropic sources
- Write and oversee high-quality grant submissions in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Manage and develop a small team, supporting performance and capability growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, ensuring long-term engagement
- Track applications, reporting, and compliance to meet funding requirements
You bring strong experience in grants and foundation fundraising, along with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in grants, trusts, and foundations fundraising
- Proven experience leading and developing teams, with a strong coaching style
- Strong strategic mindset with experience building frameworks, pipelines, or new approaches
- Track record managing complex or large-scale grants, including government tenders
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust internally and externally
- Comfortable working with targets, improving performance, and driving continuous growth
- Proficiency using CRM and grant management systems
