ABOUT THE POSITION.

Working as part of an experienced civil engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of subdivision and land development projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and construction documentation. You’ll utilise your expertise in 12D, DRAINS and MUSIC to develop practical and compliant civil engineering solutions, while coordinating with clients, councils, surveyors, planners and other project consultants. The role offers a strong mix of hands-on technical design, project management, stakeholder engagement and mentoring.


DUTIES.
  • Lead the civil design and delivery of subdivision and land development projects
  • Develop detailed civil designs using 12D
  • Undertake stormwater and drainage design using DRAINS
  • Develop and assess WSUD and stormwater treatment solutions using MUSIC
  • Prepare road, drainage, stormwater, earthworks and grading designs
  • Deliver projects from concept and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction
  • Prepare engineering plans, reports and technical documentation
  • Coordinate civil designs with survey, planning, structural and other multidisciplinary inputs
  • Liaise with clients, councils, authorities and other stakeholders
  • Manage project scope, programme, budgets and deliverables
  • Mentor and support developing engineering staff
  • Assist with development applications, authority approvals and construction documentation


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong Australian consultancy experience across subdivision and land development
  • Proven experience designing civil infrastructure for subdivision projects
  • Advanced or strong working knowledge of 12D
  • Practical experience using DRAINS
  • Experience with MUSIC and WSUD/stormwater treatment design
  • Strong understanding of earthworks, road design, drainage and stormwater infrastructure
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, council requirements and authority guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience mentoring junior engineers would be advantageous
  • CPEng or working towards chartered status would be highly regarded
