Apply direct Nesco Resource is looking for a Lead Assembler located in New Milford, CT. This is a temp to perm or direct hire for the right candidate.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $27-$31/hour depending on experience
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Assembler to provide day-to-day direction and support within an assembly environment while remaining actively involved in hands-on production. The Lead Assembler will help coordinate daily workloads, maintain production flow, troubleshoot assembly issues, and support the training and development of other team members. This is a working-lead position that serves as a key resource for the assembly team. The Lead Assembler will work closely with the Production Supervisor to help meet daily production, quality, and safety goals. This position does not typically have formal personnel-management authority.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help establish and communicate daily work priorities and assignments.
- Coordinate work among Assembly employees based on production needs and individual capabilities.
- Monitor progress toward daily production requirements and help maintain production flow.
- Identify bottlenecks, delays, material concerns, staffing issues, and other production challenges.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for complex assembly issues.
- Assist with resolving quality and process-related concerns.
- Train and coach employees on assembly procedures, work instructions, and standard processes.
- Support onboarding and development of new employees.
- Reinforce established safety, quality, productivity, and workplace standards.
- Monitor adherence to assembly and quality procedures.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Reinforce proper PPE and safe work practices.
- Communicate production status and significant issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Provide input regarding employee training needs and development opportunities.
- Participate in production meetings, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform hands-on assembly work as needed.
- Maintain required production and quality documentation.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all established company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of relevant manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
- Previous Lead Assembler, Senior Assembler, or informal leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in assembly processes and production requirements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot assembly issues.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide direction, coaching, and support to other employees.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a production environment.
