About the Opportunity
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Manager to provide corporate-level support for maintenance, reliability, and asset management initiatives across multiple production facilities. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving best practices in predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement while partnering with plant maintenance teams throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic maintenance leader who is equally comfortable analyzing equipment performance data, mentoring maintenance teams, and presenting reliability initiatives to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Reliability & Asset Performance
- Lead the development and deployment of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Implement predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and motor circuit analysis.
- Conduct and facilitate root cause analyses for critical equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Develop reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies and asset criticality rankings.
- Partner with site maintenance leaders to improve equipment uptime, increase MTBF, and reduce MTTR.
Maintenance Systems & Analytics
- Support corporate CMMS strategy, ensuring standardized maintenance processes and accurate asset data.
- Develop and monitor maintenance KPIs including:
- PM compliance
- Planned vs. reactive maintenance
- Schedule compliance
- Maintenance costs
- Equipment reliability metrics
- Utilize maintenance data and lifecycle cost analysis to support capital planning and equipment replacement decisions.
- Identify opportunities to implement new maintenance technologies that improve efficiency and reliability.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Promote a safety-first culture across all maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, and hot work procedures.
- Support compliance with applicable environmental regulations involving hazardous materials, waste handling, refrigerants, and spill prevention.
- Assist with safety audits, incident investigations, contractor safety programs, and regulatory inspections.
Parts & Inventory Management
- Support company-wide MRO inventory strategies and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Improve spare parts availability while reducing excess inventory and obsolete stock.
- Standardize inventory practices, part numbering, and workplace organization (5S).
- Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to improve inventory performance and reduce costs.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Coach and mentor maintenance managers and supervisors across multiple facilities.
- Support technician development through training and career progression initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional reliability initiatives and promote best practice sharing throughout the organization.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and development of maintenance leadership personnel.
- Champion continuous improvement and organizational change initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience; multi-site or corporate support experience preferred.
- Proven success implementing predictive maintenance and reliability improvement programs.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience managing CMMS systems and maintenance performance metrics.
- Hands-on knowledge of MRO inventory management and optimization.
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to manufacturing facilities as needed.
Preferred:
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification.
- Predictive maintenance certifications (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, etc.).
- Lean Six Sigma certification or TPM experience.
- Experience with capital projects and equipment commissioning.
- Familiarity with PLCs, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, power distribution, and automated manufacturing equipment.
