Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Program Facilitator Social & Community Care | Multiple roles METRO AND Regional Victoria (Beechworth)
About the Role An opportunity exists for an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Program Facilitator to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team delivering primary health services within a correctional environment in regional Victoria.
This role focuses on supporting people in custody through evidence-based AOD interventions, harm minimisation education, and relapse prevention programs. Working alongside psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and other health professionals, you will contribute to improved health and wellbeing outcomes for clients within a structured and secure setting.
The role involves group facilitation, AOD screening and assessment, care planning, case documentation, and collaboration across a multidisciplinary service model.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured AOD group programs and interventions
- Conduct AOD screening, assessment, and intake processes
- Deliver harm minimisation and relapse prevention education
- Support clients using person-centred, recovery-focused approaches
- Develop case notes, treatment summaries, and reports
- Maintain accurate records and data entry within clinical systems
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to improved health outcomes within a correctional healthcare setting
Qualifications (one or more of the following):
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing, or related health discipline
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
- Equivalent qualification or significant experience in the AOD sector
- Experience in AOD assessment and intervention
- Strong understanding of harm minimisation and recovery-oriented practice
- Experience facilitating group programs or psychoeducation workshops
- Strong documentation, reporting, and case note writing skills
- Ability to work towards service delivery targets and KPIs
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience in correctional or secure settings (desirable)
- Knowledge of the Victorian criminal justice system (desirable)
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Satisfactory National Criminal History Check
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
- Willingness to work within a correctional healthcare environment
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours if required
