AWX Executive is partnering with a leading transport infrastructure organisation to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of critical Natural Disaster Program (NDP) recovery projects across Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the restoration and resilience of essential transport infrastructure while playing a key role in the delivery of Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) funded projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you will provide engineering, project delivery and contract administration support across a diverse portfolio of recovery works from project inception through to completion.

About the Role As Project Engineer, you will assist in the successful delivery of NDP recovery projects by supporting planning, procurement, construction delivery, contractor management, program controls and financial administration.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with approved scope, funding requirements, program schedules, and organisational standards while contributing to the effective administration of DRFA-funded works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in the delivery of NDP projects and contracts.
  • Monitor project scope, risks, budgets, schedules and delivery milestones.
  • Undertake site inspections and support construction delivery activities.
  • Attend contractor meetings and provide technical engineering advice.
  • Assist with DRFA submissions, reporting and project closeout documentation.
  • Maintain project budgets and forecasts within organisational systems.
  • Review and monitor contractor programs and project schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of construction programs.
  • Support procurement activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation and filing structures.
  • Coordinate drawing management, as-constructed documentation and survey information.
  • Support compliance reviews of contractor procedures and approved project scope.
  • Assist with completion reporting, photographic records and DRFA acquittal requirements.
About You

You are an experienced civil infrastructure professional with a strong background in project delivery, contract administration and stakeholder management. You possess a practical understanding of disaster recovery programs and have successfully delivered transport infrastructure projects within complex operating environments.
Your ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate project controls and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be key to your success.

Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) accredited under the Washington Accord or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum six (6) years' experience delivering transport infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience delivering projects under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
  • Current Class C Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery, contract administration and construction support.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, programming and financial management principles.
Highly Regarded Experience with the following will be advantageous:
  • Transport infrastructure projects within Queensland.
  • SAP financial management systems.
  • Primavera P6 scheduling.
  • 3PCM project management systems.
  • TMR project delivery frameworks and standards.
  • DRFA eligibility, funding administration and acquittal processes.
