Apply direct Job Summary:
Responsible for fabricating and preparing metal components used in the production of heavy-duty suspension systems. The Fabrication Operator operates manufacturing equipment, performs cutting, forming, and welding processes, inspects finished components, and follows established safety and quality procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate fabrication and production equipment according to established procedures.
- Cut, form, bend, and prepare steel components for production.
- Perform MIG/robotic welding operations as required.
- Load and unload parts, fixtures, and materials from production equipment.
- Position and secure components in fixtures to ensure proper alignment.
- Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, production schedules, and specifications.
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and product quality.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated components.
- Identify defective materials or welds and report quality issues.
- Make basic adjustments to equipment and tooling when necessary.
- Maintain proper production rates while meeting quality standards.
- Keep workstations clean and organized according to 5S standards.
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, PPE, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and downtime activities.
- Work with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance personnel to resolve issues.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain a safe, productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or metalworking experience preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic blueprints.
- Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work overtime and different shifts as production requires.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to handle metal components and production materials.
- Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs., depending on the assignment.
- Ability to work around industrial noise and in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Required to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
