About the Role

Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will be responsible for supporting U.S. sales and use tax compliance, corporate accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. What You'll Do

  • Manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance and other indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare, review, and file U.S. sales tax returns and other indirect tax filings accurately and on time.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. sales and use tax legislation and maintain tax registrations.
  • Research tax implications related to new products, customer transactions, nexus requirements, and business expansion initiatives.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and investigate tax-related discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax reporting processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance compliance.
  • Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with corporate accounting responsibilities and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Perform financial analysis and variance reporting to support management reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and other FP&A initiatives while developing broader finance capabilities.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is required.
  • Three or more years of progressive experience in tax, corporate accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
  • Experience with U.S. sales and use tax compliance is required, preferably within a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-state environment.
  • Public accounting experience in tax or audit is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions; experience with Canadian GST/HST/PST is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in learning FP&A and expanding into broader commercial finance responsibilities.

Why Join

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization where you'll leverage your expertise in tax and corporate accounting while expanding your experience into financial planning and analysis.
