Customer Service Officer
Melbourne | 6-month contract (good chance of extension) | Full-Onsite   

We're partnered with a leading organization in the building products and security solutions industry that is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join their team. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional customer experience by managing customer enquiries, processing orders, and working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing inbound and outbound customer enquiries via phone, email, and ticketing systems
  • Processing customer orders, credits, cancellations, and order amendments accurately
  • Providing customers with product, pricing, order, and service information
  • Following up on open enquiries, backorders, and unresolved issues through to completion
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinating with Sales, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment
  • Supporting customer collections and service-related activities where required
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell relevant products and services
What we're looking for
  • Previous experience in customer service, order processing, customer support, or administrative roles
  • Experience working with CRM, ERP, or ticketing systems
  • Strong understanding of order management processes, including credits and returns
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Teams, and Excel
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to customer service
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, hardware, construction, or trade-related industries
Nice to have
  • Exposure to systems such as AX2012, Omni Channel, 3CX, or similar platforms
  • Experience handling high-volume customer enquiries and order processing
  • Product knowledge within building products, hardware, or related industries
