About the Role
As a Community Mental Health Support Worker, you will work alongside participants to provide recovery-oriented support that promotes wellbeing, independence, and community participation.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Building positive and professional relationships with participants
  • Supporting individuals to achieve their recovery and wellbeing goals
  • Assisting with community engagement and social inclusion activities
  • Supporting access to services, appointments, education, and employment opportunities
  • Encouraging independence, capacity building, and self-determination
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
About You
To be successful, you will have:
  • Experience in mental health, disability, community services, or a related sector
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A recovery-oriented and strengths-based approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and participant outcomes
Essential Requirements

Eligibility
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or a related qualification (or relevant industry experience)
  • Minimum 12 months' experience in a Community Living Supports (CLS) program or a similar community-based program
  • Sound understanding of recovery-oriented and person-centred practice
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural responsiveness
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIS Orientation Module
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency with unrestricted work rights
