Senior Quality Manager

About the Role

Lead the project quality function on a major utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System project in regional NSW, covering civil, electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant, substation and connection infrastructure.

Reporting to the Project Director and Head of Operations, you will establish the quality framework and work closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, subcontractor, supplier and client teams from mobilisation through to commercial operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Project Quality Management Plan, procedures, registers and reporting systems.
• Manage Inspection and Test Plans, hold points, witness points, lot records and construction verification.
• Lead quality inspections and assurance across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, substation and BESS installation works.
• Manage NCRs, defects, root-cause investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Audit subcontractor and supplier quality, including traceability, testing, certifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate quality records, turnover dossiers, commissioning documentation, as-builts and final handover packages.

Skills & Experience

• Senior quality leadership experience across EPC, D&C, energy, utilities or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong QA/QC experience across civil and electrical construction packages.
• Proven capability managing Project Quality Plans, ITPs, audits, NCRs, defects and turnover documentation.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, Australian Standards, technical specifications and construction compliance.
• Experience managing subcontractor, supplier, factory and site quality requirements.
• BESS, renewable energy, substations, transmission, commissioning or energisation experience will be highly regarded.

A relevant qualification in engineering, construction or quality management is expected. Lead Auditor qualifications, a White Card and a current Australian driver licence will be advantageous.
