We’re partnering with a leading telecommunications organisation to find a Senior Systems Engineer who can operate across infrastructure, networking, platform engineering, automation and software development.
This is not a role for someone who specialises in just one technology. They’re looking for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who can investigate complex problems across the technology stack and work through to a permanent solution.
What you MUST bring:
• Strong senior-level systems/infrastructure engineering experience
• Significant hands-on on-premises infrastructure experience
• VMware / virtualisation experience
• Strong Linux and/or Windows Server administration
• Solid networking fundamentals – routing, switching, DNS, VPNs and firewalls
• Kubernetes and/or OpenShift experience
• Docker/container platform experience
• Infrastructure automation using Ansible and/or Terraform
• Experience troubleshooting application/platform issues and analysing logs
• Some software development/scripting capability – ideally Go, Rust, Python, C++, C# or Bash
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across multiple technology layers
• Ability to work collaboratively with infrastructure, network, platform and development teams
You’ll be the type of engineer who can investigate a network issue, troubleshoot a Kubernetes platform, analyse VMware infrastructure, review application logs or source code, and determine what needs to change to permanently resolve the problem.
Experience with platforms such as Elastic, OpenSearch, Kafka, Palo Alto or AWS networking would be highly regarded.
Australian citizenship is required.
