Compute Technician
We are seeking a hands-on Compute Technician to support the assembly, integration, testing, and repair of complex electromechanical systems and development hardware. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys working with mechanical assemblies, electrical components, wiring harnesses, liquid cooling systems, and hardware test environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with tools and hardware, and capable of following established procedures while operating independently in a fast-paced technical environment.
Scope:
• Assemble, disassemble, rework, troubleshoot, and repair electronic modules and electromechanical assemblies.
• Build and integrate multi-module development systems and custom rack-mounted hardware.
• Support assembly and maintenance of liquid-cooled systems, including radiators, chillers, pumps, hoses, fittings, and cooling hardware.
• Fabricate and build wiring harnesses, including wire selection, cutting, stripping, and crimping.
• Perform system setup and execute automated hardware tests.
• Establish proper power, signal, and data connections for test environments.
• Run pre-defined commands and diagnostic procedures within Linux-based systems.
• Follow ESD-safe handling procedures and proper PCBA assembly practices.
• Apply thermal interface materials and support hardware integration activities.
• Track work progress, material usage, and task completion through internal systems.
• Follow established SOPs and assist with creating documentation for repeatable processes.
• Document issues, troubleshooting activities, and test results clearly and accurately.
Required:
• 2–3 years of hands-on technician experience supporting hardware, electronics, electromechanical assemblies, or similar systems.
• Experience assembling and integrating electromechanical systems and wiring harnesses.
• Experience working with liquid cooling systems, including pumps, radiators, chillers, hoses, fittings, and related components.
• Ability to read and follow technical work instructions and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after receiving direction.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pluses:
• Experience working in a workshop, laboratory, manufacturing, or automotive environment.
• Familiarity with fabrication and assembly tools such as torque wrenches, drills, taps, and other hand tools.
• Basic Linux command line experience.
• Basic soldering and rework experience.
• Experience supporting hardware validation, testing, or prototype development activities.
• Familiarity with ESD-safe procedures and electronics handling best practices.
