We are looking for a Materials Developer to support the development and improvement of materials used in our client’s products. This role focuses on researching, testing, and introducing materials such as polymers, plastics, metals, silicone, and wood to enhance product performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure materials meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Improve and standardize materials

  Optimize existing materials for better consistency, performance, and cost, and help build a standardized material library

• Explore new materials and suppliers

  Identify and evaluate new materials and suppliers globally, keeping up with market trends and innovations

• Develop alternative solutions

  Propose material alternatives to improve product performance, reduce cost, or support sustainability goals

• Support testing and validation

  Work with quality teams to test and validate materials to meet technical and regulatory standards

• Collaborate across teams

  Partner with product development, sourcing, and quality teams to support new product launches and material transitions

• Maintain documentation

  Keep clear records of material specifications, suppliers, and test results, and prepare basic reports on performance and cost

What You’ll Need

• Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in materials development, sourcing, R&D, or supply chain (open to varying levels of experience)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, or curing
• Familiarity with different material types (e.g. plastics, polymers, metals, composites, wood)
• Exposure to sourcing or evaluating materials and suppliers is an advantage
• Knowledge of sustainable or recycled materials is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Proactive, hands-on, and eager to learn
• Interest in sustainability and continuous improvement
• Good command of English (spoken and written)

• 技术评估与测试

  与质量（QA）团队协作，对新材料进行技术验证与测试，确保满足性能、安全及法规要求

• 跨部门协作

  作为材料领域专家，与产品开发、商品管理、可持续发展及质量团队紧密合作，支持新品开发及材料导入/切换

• 数据管理与报告

  建立并维护完整的材料数据库（规格、供应商信息及测试结果），并编制材料性能与成本分析报告

任职要求

• 材料科学、化学工程、高分子工程或相关专业本科及以上学历
• 3–7年材料开发、采购、供应链或研发相关工作经验，有消费品、电子、工具或电动工具行业经验优先
• 熟悉注塑、挤出及固化等制造工艺
• 具备材料开发与供应商评估经验
• 经验较少的候选人亦可酌情考虑
• 熟悉可持续塑料、生物基材料或回收工艺者优先
• 深入了解多种材料性能（如：高分子材料、复合材料、金属、木材）
• 优秀的分析能力与问题解决能力，能评估材料性能及成本效益
• 具备良好的沟通及谈判能力
• 具备项目管理能力，关注细节
