Accountant PQ

Our client, a well-established organisation based in Cork City, is seeking to appoint a Management Accountant to join their finance team in a newly created position.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of the monthly management accounts process while supporting a broad range of finance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, providing accurate financial information and insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Act as backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
• Assist with VAT returns, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
• Support the enhancement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organisation, providing financial guidance and support.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Payroll experience would be advantageous.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
