We’re seeking an experienced and values‑aligned Mental Health Practice Lead – CLS to provide practice leadership within the Community Living Supports (CLS) program.
In this pivotal role, you will guide and inspire frontline staff to deliver evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented supports. You will balance hands‑on client work with staff supervision, service quality oversight, and strong collaboration with Local Health Districts and community partners.

Practice Leadership
- Lead and model recovery‑oriented, person‑centred, trauma‑informed practice.
- Ensure adherence to the CLS model and program guidelines.
- Provide direct support to clients and maintain an individual caseload.
- Deliver one‑on‑one and group supervision, coaching, and on‑the‑job practice support.
- Facilitate reflective practice and specialist supervision sessions.
- Observe staff practice and provide constructive, strengths‑based feedback.
- Identify learning needs and coordinate targeted professional development.
- Guide the development and review of individual recovery plans.
- Support effective risk assessment and management while upholding dignity and empowerment.
- Ensure timely, responsive, and safe service delivery.
- Work closely with LHD mental health clinicians, housing providers, families, and carers.
- Participate in joint case reviews and interagency coordination.
- Strengthen partnerships to support integrated care pathways.
- Contribute to data collection, reporting, and evaluation against CLS KPIs.
- Identify service gaps and lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, organisational policies, and safeguarding requirements.
You’re a confident mental health leader with a strong grounding in psychosocial recovery practice and a passion for developing others. You bring sound judgement, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to complex service environments.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline or Cert IV in Peer Work.
- Experience leading a mental health service.
- Experience working within a CLS program.
- Strong understanding of the CLS model of practice.
- Demonstrated experience in recovery‑oriented, person‑centred, trauma‑informed care.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to undertake supervision training.
- Strong values alignment.
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff.
- Knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act.
- Lived experience of mental health challenges or carer experience, and willingness to use this in practice leadership.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency with full work rights is required.
- NSW Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check (within 3 months)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
