Description:
*Contract-to-hire opportunity
*2nd shift: MON-FRI (2pm – 12:00am)
*Overtime required
*High School Diploma or GED required
*Top (3) skills: Tensile testing, fatigue testing, ability to use measuring tools, micrometer, caliper, comparator and gauges
* This position maintains traceability and assists with physical and mechanical testing in the lab
* Use of precision inspection tools and equipment, ability to read blueprints, procedures and specifications are required in the daily activities to ensure acceptance of product to specifications and drawing requirements
* Involvement in other inspections, such as, but not limited to; dimensional inspection, MRB inspection & receiving inspection
* Performing mechanical testing (For Acceptance and Qualifications) on manufactured products, performing complex testing of manufacturers product due to a broad understanding of test systems, e.g. torque, torque-tension, tensile, vibration, push out, torque out, etc
* Prepares various inspection and test reports, including work order entries, dimensional layout sheets, etc.
* Uses sampling plans, drawings, instructions, standards and specifications to verify product acceptance
* Prepares quality and inspection documentation including lab reports and log books for examination and product acceptance
Skill/Knowledge:
* Associates degree in Metallurgy or 5 years of laboratory experience in mechanical and metallurgical testing, or 3 years in mechanical and metallurgical laboratory training or classes relating to mechanical and metallurgical testing plus 2 years in mechanical and metallurgical lab work or training in accordance with the defined skills training matrix progression; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
